Shedding can have an effect on their appetite and behavior. Since it looks like he has a full body shed going, my first guess is that's what's at play and he should return to normal after that's done.
When you offer bugs, do you offer as much as he wants in a sitting and he just takes 1 or 2? Or are you limiting him to those amounts? At his age, he will intermittently eat a lot, so I would offer small amounts of bugs but repeat until he loses interest. The actual amount he wants will vary.
