Baby beardie not eating. long lasting relocation stress?

The female sounds adorable. Yes, they sure CAN have very good eyesight when they want to. :lol: Unless they don't want to eat, then they act like they don't see the food. :roll:

Perhaps he knows you're getting her out & is jealous. They sure can hear very well too. In fact, he can probably even smell her.

She's about 16-18 inches long but didn't reach that length till this month. Been feeding as you would an adult. She eats ferociously.

Took the male out to play in the bathroom. He actually seemed to be enjoying himself so I turned the heater on and let him run around in there for 15-20 mins. Didn't seem to mind me at all, I'm thinkin the more open space somehow makes him feel not as trapped from my hand. Went well.

He actually ate all 20 worms I gave him this morning. so I put 25 more in there, of course he didn't go after them, but he might eat them in a bit. I'm going to see if he can get to 30 worms tomorrow I'll be really impressed.

You mentioned him smelling her? Is this an issue?

Oh, she's so pretty, love her coloring. Great that she's eating so well. She looks younger than a yr and since they continue to grow pretty rapidly until 1 1/2 to 2 yrs old, would be a good idea to still give her lots of protein. Should think about not cutting her feeders back until she is close to 1 1/2 yrs old.

Awesome that he enjoyed himself running around. So happy to hear that. Certainly makes sens that he wouldn't feel as trapped in that more open area. Would be a idea to do that as often as you can. Good job. Bet he'll sleep well tonight and have contented dreams.

That's great that he ate 20 worms this morning, hopefully he ate some more too. The more exercise they get, the better their appetites are.

As long as he doesn't seem stressed, uneasy or have lots of stress marks on his beard, chest & belly & is eating well, it shouldn't be a worry.
