I would most definitely try and get him in a 40 to 50 gal terrarium at least and try and get the temp as the following:
Basking spot - 102-105*F
Warm Side - 90-95*F
Cold side - 75-80*F
Make sure you have plenty of places to climb at different levels on the warm side right up to the basking spot. If you find he's hiding lots, take the hide away in the day time so that he can soak up more of that UVB and heat. Make sure there is FRESH water in his terrarium every morning, along with a bowl of Fresh greens/veggies every morning. I've been having some food issues with my little guy as well recently but things are slowly improving. Wait at least 2 hours after you turn his lights on before you try live prey, put him in a Separate plastic bin to feed him his live prey. This will make it so he has no distractions, there are no places for the crickets to hide (Crickets are much better than mealworms, don't use mealworms - very fatty and difficult to digest compared to crickets). Spray him with warm temp water once/day and bathe him once a week or more.
Hopefully this helps!
In a nutshell: Temps & lighting are KEY to a happy, healthy beardie! Also, making sure that fresh greens and fresh water available at all times, changed out every morning! Offer crickets every few hours in a separate plastic bin from his tank, then place him back in his tank when he's done.
Let us know how he's doing!!
