The way to address his problem is this....it will either respond to calcium supplements + proper lighting or not. A vet won't actually do much more except give you a stronger calcium syrup, but even that can be ordered online. His condition will not improve ONLY if taken to a vet, it may be permanent or it may be something that can improve, and that is with proper care with or without a vet.So you don't have to base your decision on thinking that he'll need lots of vet care....there is nothing more than what was suggested that can improve his condition. If you want him, you should get him, unless he's really ill, lethargic + obviously on a severe downward spiral.
