Hello, I got my bearded dragon the Saturday after Christmas, or the 29th of December. Ever since I got him, he has been barely eating. He usually has been eating around 8 crickets per day, but today, at 0. I tried to feed him multiple times and even removed him from his hammock and placed him next to the crickets in hopes that he would eat, but he only started staring at the glass and trying to climb it. (I actually got a background for the tank, but the sides and front still are just plain glass) I was told that because I recently got him, he was still stressed from relocation and would begin to eat heavily, except this hasn't happened despite me having him for over a week.

In his tank, which is 75 gallons, the temperatures are normal. His basking spot, which is his hammock he barely ever leaves, stays around 105 degrees, currently at 107. His cooler side remains much colder normally in the low 70s. I have two heat lamps and a UVB lamp currently, but am currently purchasing one of the wide bulbs that I read are much better. At night, I also place a ceramic heater in place of his current UVB bulb to ensure that his temperature remains around 70 degrees at night. All in all, I don't think there is anything wrong with his temperatures. His humidity levels normally stay in the high 30's despite having uses two different humidifiers. I originally used the big one I have for my damp basement, but that didn't decrease it much. I then bought a mini one that can fit in his tank. It is called the Eva-Dry and it doesn't seem to be working, either. I will be testing my humidity gauge tomorrow to ensure that it is accurately measuring the humidity. When I came back from a short, 2-day trip, I believed he was dehydrated so I have been giving him daily baths and putting drops of water on his nose for him to drink, which he does for a little. He still currently has a few wrinkles, but I am not sure if they are from dehydration as I'm not sure how he could be dehydrated at this point. I'm not sure what else would cause him to not be eating much. I'm getting worried. He still poops often however, which is a bit reassuring.

Here is a picture of him (sorry for the low quality, I will upload a better one tomorrow if needed): https://imgur.com/a/OvwTJoq

It has been about 48 hours since he has last eaten.

Would this threat be better off in the health section?

He looks OK in that photo. I do advise upgrading the UVB light. A 22'' or 34'' T5 is a good fit for a tank that size. http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/22-t-5-ho-fixture-high-output-with-arcadia-d3-12-ho-bulb/

As far as humidity goes, 30% is pretty low. 30-60% is normal for their natural habitat. If it doesn't feel very humid in the room to you, then it's probably fine. On the other end, you don't want it to get too dry either.

Yeah, I purchased one a few days ago but got the wrong sizes. I got the reptisun t5 48 inch for both, which are both the wrong sizes. I'm going to buy another one of a different size and mount it inside my tank.

Hi there, you did a nice job getting him a large tank but babies do much better in a small tank at first [ I raised them for many years ] But right now you need to get a good uvb ASAP> The very large tank and the very weak uvb [ not your fault that this is what's sold as acceptable ] are not allowing him to get any uvb, especially through the screen. Without uvb he can't absorb calcium + this will lead to loss of appetite. Get the bulb ordered priority, he will only go downhill without it. If it's warm where you live take him out to set in the sun with you but not in a glass tank.

One more thing, exactly how large were the crickets you fed him ? Can you post pics of the crickets next to a coin ? It's very important. If they were larger than the space between his eyes they can cause impaction. Has he poo'd lately ? If not it very well may be impaction.

For now, do this ASAP. Set him up in a meduium plastic tote. Put a small section of screen over the top or suspend the lights another way. The smaller tote will allow the weak uvb bulb to at least reach him to a degree. Very important to be done ASAP. Here's an example of how I set up babies when I bred them :

Just yesterday the one I ordered, the reptisun 10.0 uvb, came and I installed it. Because it is 48 inches wide and so is my tan, there is no way to put it inside my tank, unfortunately. I was wondering if it was still ok to keep it on top of the screen, as that is what I am currently doing. His tank is 21" tall, but given where he basks it is probably 18" away. I was wondering if that was sufficient or not.

I hope he starts eating again!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
