I bought a new baby dragon yesterday and when i picked her up the guy accidentally dropped her as she jumped out of his hand, when I got her home I noticed that her foot looked swollen and her claw looked snapped. It isn't touching the floor properly. She is happily adjusting to her new home and eating veggies and insects. I am so worried and i dont know what is wrong with her foot, i dont know if it is like this because of her falling from around 3 feet or possibly from being housed with other baby dragons. HELP. Is it infected?, is it broken?, is she shedding? I dont know :( Here is a picture...

You need to call the manager and tell them what happened and they will need to pay all the vet bills. I'm so sorry this happened to your Beardie before you even left the store. You should have talked to a manager then or a rep for the named store. I hope her foot will be ok. She must see a vet today.

To me this looks like an existing injury. I would definitely talk to the manager and find out what they are willing to do regarding vet care. Be sure to keep all receipts and document well all conversations had with employees (dates, times, employee name, details of conversation) just in case they need "reminding" of any relief/financial help offered.

In that case, unless the guy is willing to exchange, you are probably on your own. I agree with the previous poster that your dragon needs to see a qualified vet. At such a young age, an infection could be quickly fatal. Unless you are already attached, I think I would contact the seller for a refund and thoroughly clean out the tank and basking platforms and order a dragon from a more established breeder.

It would be nice if he offered to help pay for a vet but it depends on whether or not the breeder really stands behind the dragons he sells or is just trying to make a buck (all sales final). If I were a breeder I would have never let a dragon leave my care with a blemish like that.

I am sorry that you are having such a rough start.

Can you post another couple of pics on a white or light colored background so the foot stands out more ? The injury is definitely from a previous bite. It's very common for babies that are kept in groups [ esp. if they aren't fed as much as they need ] to bite their cagemates. Either way, it happened before you got it and that baby should have been attended to and/or given free to someone who would care for it. It may or may not heal up, sometimes the infection clears up and they live with a somewhat disfigured foot. Hopefully he will heal with some care ....it's good that he's eating. That means he's not in a lot of pain. It can still take a turn for the worse and the worse case scenario is needing amputation, but I don't think it's going to come to that.

i think its a broken toe. i'm no expert but bearded dragons have a really long back toe and i cant see it. its also very fragile so its probably that

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
