So my baby beardies are almost old enough to go to a new home, (2 months) and on person who wanted one of them said they now want 2.. She was wondering if a 70 gallon tank would be enough for the two of them throughout their life? and she was also wondering if she has to have 2 females or if because theyre clutch mates, if she could possibly have 2 males? im also curious how old they have to be to check their gender, only one is big enough for me to be certain of his gender, im checking the gender by holding a flashlight above the tail and by looking at the "lumps"

Hi Ally....it's always a gamble to try to keep 2 together, sometimes females will work out but VERY rarely will males and it's not worth trying even if they are brothers. What happens with the males is almost always end up fighting, and other times one male will dominate + try to mate with the other.

Babies will sometimes grow up together but biting can happen with no warning and feet + tails can be mangled and bitten off even by 7-8" babies. It's best to have 2 separate tanks in the long run.

Alright il let her know, Thanks! do you have any advice about finding out what the sex is at about 2 months? i know its hard to be positive, but i just wanna be bale to give her a general idea. I tried with the flashlight but it seems like their tales are still too small to tell.
