These little guys are so funny! Needless to say, we've enjoyed our first few weeks of having our little Godzilla that we had a weak moment when we saw an absolutely GORGEOUS colored bearded dragon at the pet store the other day. Well, okay, I had a weak moment. I told my husband about it... then went home and didn't think about it for a few days. Monday, we took our daughter to a doctor appointment and the pet store just happened to be on our way home so I told my husband he should look at the cool little beardie that I saw at the petstore. We had NO intention to buy. As soon as he saw him(maybe her?) he asked for a sales associate and we were going about the process of getting our second little bearded dragon and ANOTHER enclosure. This one, my son named, "T-Rex." :lol: and T-Rex has some gorgeous orange-like coloring, almost like a tangerine color with white and some dark markings but mostly an orange-ish color with orange on her cheeks. They had him/her in with the "regular" bearded dragons, but one of the employees said he/she is most definitely a "fancy," whatever that means, but that someone accidentally probably put him/her in the wrong area. I need to get some pics on here.
Anyway! We have 2 separate enclosures so the little guys aren't in the same terrarium but they can see each other. The new guy is super active and wasn't shy at all around us. He is about double the size of our first one and eats an amazing amount of crickets and roaches.
The second night, we noticed Godzilla, (who is normally very calm) head bobbing through the glass and T-Rex waving (her?) arm very slowly in response! This went on and on and on. We actually put a piece of paper between the acquariums so they wouldn't be doing it throughout the night keeping one another awake. I was just surprised that they're doing these things already. I mean they're wee little things. Godzilla is barely larger than my hand from head to tail and T-Rex is a little larger, but still a baby. I can't believe how many times T-Rex has waved at Godzilla and then at us. It's actually quite funny too since T-Rex is larger than Godzilla. I am wondering if this is just a new territorial thing or if we have a boy and a girl? They are SO cute to watch. My kids really get a kick out of them and now walk around the house waving at them. :lol:
