Azreal (Brand new pics pg7! 4/9/12)

Just a little update on Azreal.

He's eating very well! He loves salad and we have him on Crix right now, letting the Dubia colony get caught up, but he loves Dubia. He does love to chase the crix around his tank though! :lol: He's such a funny little guy. Oh! and he drinks out of a water bowl too! He's kinda upset right now though...he's starting to shed again! lol He is growing like a weed though! He's now just over 10" and 44g now! :shock: Oh and we gave him a cave, he loves sleeping in it. ^^ I'll have to get some new pics soon.

WOW!! He drinks out of his water bowl? My girl has only swam in it occasionally, unless I just don't see her drink I have never seen her drink water. She compresses in and out when she takes her bath (and usually poops too which ends her bath pretty quick).

Yes! He drinks from a bowl! (or the bath lol) I was surprised too! I gave him a bath and he started licking so I dripped some water on his nose and he dropped his head and started drinking! So I thought I'd try putting a bowl in his tank (one with really low sides) to see what he would do. He took to it after I showed him and sprayed some water in it. (to make the water move)

Thank you! We love him to death! Oh and he's starting to show alot more color! He's going back into shed though, I'll try to get some good pics after he's done shedding. ^^

I think I will add a low water bowl to see if my girl will drink too. She has the type you swim in, but not a low ended. She is very cute and sticks her front legs in it after she eats, like she is "washing up". Can't wait to see the new pics.

He is just gorgeous. Those colors are fantastic and he eats his salad like a champ! He got so big from when he was popping out of the box.

Thanks guys! Looks like he's gonna shed again soon, so his color is kinda dull, but he's even bigger than in these pics/video! D: When I got his length a few days ago, he was just over 11 1/2"! He is quickly catching up to Allie! (she's just over 14" right now)

Yeah, he loves salad. He gets really mad if he doesn't have any. :lol:

No, not yet. This weekend, I will be heading out to the reptile store near my house to get some supplies. is it like the ones that can be walked into? or is it just a shallow type bowl that is all around? They have quite an assortment of bowls at the store. They sell everything reptile and fish. And all the employees are reptile lovers and have such great knowledge. It is a great store so I am sure I can find one. I'm guessing you keep it at the cooler end of the tank?

mistygirl: it was just a tiny Tupperware lid, but now he's using a hermit crab water bowl...thing. lol I'll take a pic of it. I keep it right in the middle so he can still see the water from his basking spot. To remind him that it's there, I just put my finger in the water and wiggle it around to make the water move and reflect the light.

Jaxxnbeardie: I know! I just measured him again tonight and he's 12 1/4"! D: We're feeding him a mix of mustard greens, turnip greens, and collard greens. (comes in a premade bag from the store. lol)

:lol: I was so surprised that he would eat his greens! Beth did a great job! With Allie, we still have to hand feed her to get her started. But! at least she's eating her greens now.
