I just got my dragon (finally!) and set him in his viv. As seems typical, he was unwilling to really explore at first, and seemed content to hang out where I put him, occasionally glass-dancing and trying to crawl into the little space between a rock and the glass, then coming out and peering at me, then crawling along the glass the other way, etc. Eventually, he fell alseep standing up, leaning against the glass.
Cute!
I'm a little bit concerned about the fact that he stayed in one side, and didn't explore at all... but it's also the first day. He's not hiding, at least. Anyway, after he fell asleep standing up, I picked him up and set him in front of the hide. He's siting there now, eyes slowly closing, with no interest in actually going into the hide.
My main question: did I make a mistake trying to introduce him to his hide, or is it basically ok for me to urge the critter towards whatever part of his viv I think he should be using (basking spot if he hasn't basked in a while, hide at night, etc)?
Thanks in advance.
