Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and looking for help please.
I've raised baby bearded dragons before and purchased adults, but I adopted a bearded dragon from a friend who had kids and could not longer care for his beardie, and I'm having trouble sexing the beardie.
Can you please help?
I see no trace of male bulges but only see the female bulge (which sometimes shows on males as well). I see no phemoral pores at all. I haven't tried the flashlight method yet.
Also, if you guys wouldn't mind:
1) The beardie doesn't seem to move much...not like other beardies I've had. Is this a male/female thing? My other Beardie (male) moves quite a bit and is active!
2) I keep checking for impaction from superworms as i hardly ever see this beardie poop (he was on mealworms from previous owner). He eats veggies and superworms whenever we feed him/her (we provide more veggies than worms in a ratio of 70/30 favor of veggies) and he eats no problem. Has pooped twice since I got him 1 month ago. what gives? Sustrate is carpet with tile (1/2 and 1/2), powersun with a hammock that brings him/her 12 inches from the light source (160w) with ability to move underneath for less heat or to other side of tank.
3) Beardie never fluctuates between hot side and cooler side, even at night. Stays on hammock under powersun, when lights go out for nighttime and nighttime bulb kicks in on other side, he/she just sits on hammock in dark, doesn't move to the heat or anyting.....lazy fool LOL
