So a few weeks ago, I finished the DIY rock structures I made Dudley. Good news: He LOVES it. Bad news: His new basking structure is higher up than his old one, but still with in the 6-8 inches range. Ever since I adopted him, Dudley has had this lovely habit of standing up against the glass and attacking his UVB light. I have it mounted in my viv with Command hooks as high up as I can get it, but the little snot face can still reach it. And he is still having hormonal psychotic episodes, so multiple times a day he glass dances insanely and claws at his light. Normally he isn't this bad (And in the summer when he gets fat and lazy, he doesn't feel the urge to stand up against the glass anymore LOL), but since he woke up from brumation he just cant contain his energy!
Any suggestions? I'm a little worried he is going to knock his light down. But then again, its impossible to get the light fixture off of those hooks unless you lift it up, and even then it doesn't always come off easily...
Oh, and a quick funny story!
I just let Dudley out to run around, so he can burn off some energy without putting his UV light in jeopardy LOL. I have his huge utility shelf that all my cages are on. My hermit crab's cage is on the bottom shelf and he is obsessed with trying to break into their cage and eat them. I also have this NIC cube grid protecting the electrical cords from my rabbit (small animal owner will know what these are... Haha). Dudley just jumped onto their shelf and was staring into their cage... I looked away for a second, and I couldn't see him anymore! So I got down and looked more closely at the shelf, and Dudley had some how managed to climb up the 13" grid, and was ready to make an epic leap at the crab cage. He is SUCH a little trouble maker!
