Ate a leave from an unknown house plant! Help!

Okay so i turn my back for one second and Elyott is attacking my mothers house plant. I have no idea what kind of plant it is. All i know is it has a shinny leave and its a vine. I got most of it out of his mouth but he still swallowed some. Should i be scared he is gonna get sick or is there a way to get him to throw up?

Can you post a pic of it ? Is it pothos ? That is poisonous, and is one of the most common houseplants. You would need an emergency vet visit to be sure she will O.K.

that is pothos 99% sure and it is posionous

How do i make him throw up? He has been happy since but i don't want to see what will happen

I have no idea. Maybe try to clean his bowels out with a bath and maybe some olive oil.

I used to have a veiled chameleon that had pothos in his cage + he nibbled a bit of it once in a while and it didn't hurt him. So I Googled just now and found that other chameleon owners had the same experience. What I read is that it is toxic in larger amounts or if eaten regularly, but a small bit may not give any problem. So, if he only ate a tiny bit, it may be fine....I'm not sure what to tell you, but if you're really worried a vet could administer a bit of activated charcoal to absorb it and clear out his tummy, or maybe the olive oil that was mentioned will help.

I am unsure of how much he swollowed. I got lots out but when i tired o et the rest i got bit. I think he swollowed a chuck about the size of a quarter

I just gave him fresh aloe plant hopin to give him diaherea and i gave him some oil and have been rubbing his stomache

He is in the bath and i keeps rubbing his tummy

Ok. I would wait a bit and try the bath again and see if he goes some more.

He drank a lot of water so i hope that helps. I will bath him more. But i am hoping if it doesn't kill him by tonight i shouldn't worry too much.
