At what point is it cruel not kind?

Hi I'm trying to train my beardie to eat from a bowl (and something healthier) as I'm going away for 3 days in April and while the person looking after her is fine they aren't confident hand feeding live food. I've left a clear glass bowl of bsfl one side of her viv and a dvd box set cover with bsfl at the other end and am refusing to feed her anything else (other thsn greens which ironically she will eat from a bowl). I'm checking her weight daily and she is maintaining well but it's been 3 days and not a single worm has been eaten (I even put a wax worm in each to try and get her attention). She's also less keen on general handling now she's not getting hand fed which is upsetting. But anyway at what point does it become cruel to deny her other good while trying to change her habits? I assume it's if/when she starts losing weight. Thanks in

How old is your dragon?
Older dragons can go along time with out eating as much as we think they should, 3 days isn’t that long for an adult in good form. It’s in their advantage to be efficient after all. Your not likely being cruel or starving him if food is provided and visible. Dragons are smart enough for feeder bowls and patient enough to not use them if they know they don’t have too.

She's 13 months old so an old juvenile I guess. I'll stick with it a little longer then. Thanks

If anything, she is old enough that you can leave a dish of feeders for the few days you are out of town and if she can’t be bothered to slog over to them, she won’t really be harmed.
