I have to amazing beardies. But i have fighting something nasty with one of them. I thought at first she had yellow fungus and saw a vet who couldnt tell. So i found a better vet who said it looked like it migh have to do with her shed but wanted to to a test for the problem at her mouth. The test came back negative but they still cant figure out what she could have and its starting to cost me more money taking her to the vet then i can handle. She isnt growning, tends not to eat (and i feed them separately), she finally had her first shed on the 16th but it doesnt look like all of it has shedd. Has anyone else ever heard of something like this happen? I just dont understand what she could have and why its so hard for vets to figure it out.

YF is very contagious. It does look like some sort of fungus. If the little one does have YF, then your other one could get it from cross contamination.

It isnt yellow fungus the test came back negative for it.

Hi there....I agree that it looks like some type of fungus....there are several kinds I believe. It could also just be an uneven shed. To be on the safe side, it wouldn't hurt to put some antifungal cream like Monistat or Lotrimin on it. It's not expensive, and that would be the treatment to use if it IS something fungal and if it's just stubborn shed it will help it to come off. As was mentioned, anything fungal will be contagious to your other dragon. Also, if you put cream on be sure to keep her on paper towels rather than loose or sandy substrate.

As for her appetite, that differs with all beardies, but if housed together she may be in submission to the other and have a reduced appetite whether she is fed separately or not. Then again, she may just not be a big eater....or it could be related to her skin problem. Have you tried Phoenix worms ? Many reluctant eaters eagerly go for those. Don't give up, hopefully she'll be O.K.

Well i just gave her a bath and some of that discoloration came off but not much at all (enough to make me happy). Also i was just about to order some phenix worms, i know they are better then the other worms you get at the store.
