Are You a Good Slave?

Okay, I feel like I am a complete slave to my dragons. Between my two Beardies and my Frilled....my life revolves around them. So tell us what crazy stuff you do for your dragons!

:whip: I will go first, Ash hasn't eaten on his own since January. I have been feeding him baby food and prying open his mouth to stuff in superworms. After 2 neg fecals and 2 completely normal exams, a complete overhaul of his cage and change of lighting, he still wouldn't eat. The vet's sage advice....starve him for two weeks. She said he is a spoiled brat. :mrgreen: So I didn't force him and offered lots of choices...well now he is eating....ONLY hornworms!

:laughhard: So being a good slave...I ordered hornworm babies and eggs today and got them shipped overnight....$70...yeah, I am whipped....whatever dragons want, they get! :whip:

:mrgreen: I also come home everyday for lunch and feed and soak my babies, just to make sure they are happy. The newest brat is the Frilled and boy is he picky. He doesn't like me to watch him eat his crickets! :mrgreen: So of course I do what he wants. :roll:

I hope it is not just me! I feel like a nut somedays! None of my friends understand!

Come on Tom....I know that you must have given in at some point for one of those "special" dragons. You had to be a slave before you could be a keeper and breeder. :mrgreen: Don't be such a tough guy and confess. :roll: I know you must have done something special at some point. :mrgreen:

I am also not a slave, I am an owner. I make sure both Carl and Herman are provided for, but that is my responsibility as someone who wanted the pets, not a slave.

i spend an absolute fortune on treats for them and over food..

Slave to the bone here!!!My 2 dragons are so spoiled it's not funny.They each have their own blankies to be snuggled into at night,they eat nothing but salad and supers(both being over 18 inches) If they don't feel like chasing their worms I scoot the worms back to them,they each have their own carrier and get to go on trips with us,they each have a bath and cuddle/roam time every day..........and of course their own stuffed animals which they love.

I'm definatly a slave too... :notworthy: i make up salads for them before i go to bed at night, then in the morning i move the screen tops soooooo easy as to not make any noise to bother them, and put their salads in their vivs, then i make sure they are still tucked in nice and warm in thier blankets (yes each has their own) then i slowly/quietly put the screen back on. for my little one i also dust about 4-5 dubia the night before and put them in her bowl until morning, morning comes and along with her salad i open the top of the bowl and put them in too,lol. then i have a schedule made for them... mon, wed, fri- Phoenix gets baths and Juuji gets play time, then tues, thrus, sat, Juuji gets baths and phoenix gets to play. on sundays they each play for hours. when i get home at night about 530-6, they are each eager to have dinner, so i dust more dubia or whatever type of insect i have and put them in their feeding tanks. like the poster above, if they are feeling lazy i will take my tweezers and get the dubia and move it closer to my beardie so they dont have to chase it lol!!! and of course they have stuffed animals and cat toy balls... although phoenix is hte only one interested in them, and each have their own pet carrier just incase. I have a beardie emergency kit that i'm putting together (as suggested by my breeder) dont have eveyrhting but i'm getting there. :mrgreen:

i b slave, cuz crash will only RELUCTANTLY eat his worms when theyre not being hand fed, same with xena. psycho bites you (only sometimes now) and quasi doesnt care if theyre hand fed or put in his dish: he will run the length of his cage to get them (both supers and horns -- i dont understand how they eat them, i got a bite of horn when cleaning worm bin and it was MEGA YUCK... i dont advise eating worms unless youre a herp)

Total slave to 8 beardies. 6 of my own and 2 babies that need a home. They all have stuffies, cloth covered basking platforms. Each get what they like. The big guys get roam time. I built a 5 story beardie condo so all the big ones have the requivalent of a 60 each. The littlest has a 55 gallon tank and the two babies are in a 20. Anyone want one of Grim and Reeses babies?

I like to think I am. I make up the salad bowls and Kimba gets one before I go to bed (I work 3rd shift). I usually add a mealie or a wax worm as a "garnish". He gets his dusted crix (new shipment arriving today. I've been tracking the UPS# all night, haha) in the afternoons when I wake up. We're building a vivarium/bookshelf (Okay it was my idea and I "conscripted" my boyfriend). Hopefully going to frame it in today. It'll be 4x2x2 when it's done, on top of a 4x2x2 book shelf/cupboard area since I figured we needed more shelves and I had to put the new beardie home on something 8)

Even stopped by a marble countertop place near our house yesterday, but they wanted $200-250 to even think about cutting a small slab of natural rock for the bottom of his home. So alas, it'll be slate tile and grout for the flooring. But I know I'm going to have fun "decorating" his house before he fully moves in. Already have a lead on glass doors, track, and a lock to keep the kitties from "accidentally" opening the doors.

I'm also a good slave to our six kitties, my very spoiled parrot, and the uber-spoiled horse. :mrgreen:

Can you post pics of this set-up? I made a 5 story beardie condo 4 x18.... Would love to see yours. I am planning on building another one. Where is your lead on doors and tracks?
