So we got these on Saturday from Petco. They're going to be cohabed until this evening as we get the other tank set up. I saw a post on tumblr about the differences between inland and rankins/lawson dragons, and they seem like both? We were prepared to return them, but when we went to a different pet store to check out other beardies, the hatchlings looked much like ours with the less prominent spikes, beards, head shapes, and most importantly you can't tell the size differences and Petco was unable to tell us how old they are. No matter what they are, they're very small due to their age. I only see "beard action" from presumably our male, and it never turns black, but rankins/lawsons do the same thing from what I understand, so that's not the best indicator. Here are my best pictures:

Hi. They are definitely a normal dragon. Rankins sell for more and you usually don't get them at pet stores.

Hello,

They are an Inland bearded dragon. Are you in Australia or the US?

I'm in the US, it was pointed out to me that they looked kind of like Rankins so I freaked out because petco told me several things like they just LOVE to be cohabed which is costing me a bunch and I know two female rankins can be, so I wanted to make sure before we splurged on another tank and more supplies. They're not aggressive to each other yet, only problem that happened is mine's usually a better hunter and when the other one ate more crickets than her she sat on it all day. I know rankins are rare, but the pictures up close looked really similar to my untrained eye and I know petco has had some slip ups before. That's why I came here

Hello,

They do appear to be Pogona Vitticips. Rankins normally only get 10-12 inches in length. Of course, you can't rule out a cross breed of some type, if the spikes appear different. I sent a couple of links for you for care sheets on Rankins, it is basically about the same for beardies.

They have a forum where people had posted a few pictures. Here are a few:

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
