Are locusts a good staple?

Are locusts a good staple for bearded dragons, as opposed to crickets? They cost about the same as crickets in the store I'd be getting them from and my beardies seem to like them more than crickets.

They aren't legal here so I don't have experience with them, but I've read about others who successfully use them as a staple feeder.

No wonder I can't find anything on them... I read today that they are very easy to gut load but are a touch more expensive than crickets (about $16 for 100), but nothing about them being good staples and I don't really trust most sources outside of BD.org. Since my two aren't eating veggies, I thought something that is easy to gut load would be good for them. Thanks anyway, Cooper. I'll read up a bit more and give them a try.

It's a staple in Germany for sure. I think you can't get them in the US.
