Are Bearded Dragons Protective?

I have just signed up because im a looking into buying a bearded dragon in the near future, however are they at all protective over their owners?

I guess in some ways its a good thing but if i have a friend round / girl friend round will it get jealous and attack?

My little guy chills on the bed with me and my girlfriend all the time. She used to freak out when he crawled on her but she loves him now. They are amazing pets

HAH, no.. beardies like everyone, or no one. and very very very few like no one. They're not like dogs where they get attached to someone and still hate everyone else. If they do get attached to one person, the only problem is if that person stops spending time with them, they can get depressed and get sick or die. Never seen a beardie do that but I have seen a water dragon do it. Very sad... but there are no attack beardies if you take care of them.

put it this way.. bearded dragons are like .. the puppies of reptiles ! I think i read that somewhere and i was like YEAH RIGHT ! But its totally true !! They get attached to anyone whos close to it and are very AFFECTIONATE !!!!!!

We own a male and female. Skitz, can be very protective of his mate "Tip" (and slaves) and jealous at the same time {hence his name}. A few weeks ago, my husband was holding Tip and Skitz came running up and bites Tip in the tail. When he put Tip down, she came running over to me and Skitz charged me and head butted my foot. It was so funny! It was harmless! So, my experience with this pair is, at times, they get protective and jealous, but it's nothing that we worry about .. it's been rather friendly. They're our little dogs. Tip comes to me when I pat my leg three times and call her name. It's the sweetest thing!

Sort of. I used to have two males, one was very sociable while the other preferred to be left alone. Well, one day my ex decided to hold Oscar (the anti-social one) while sitting on the couch, while Felix (the social butterfly) was hanging out on the top of the couch just above my ex's head. A few minutes after sitting down, my ex was suddenly attacked on the head by Felix, who then proceeded to pounce on Oscar, all the while displaying the blackest beard we'd ever seen on him. Of course, Oscar had no idea what was going on, so he stayed put. Well, that pissed off Felix even more and he charged at Oscar with intentions of pushing him off, which almost worked. This went on for a couple more minutes until Oscar finally got the hint and ran off to the other end of the couch. It wasn't until Oscar wasn't moving anymore that Felix finally calmed down, and proceeded to walk over everyone sitting on the couch.

So, yes, I'd say they're protective of their slaves. But then again, they were the odd couple and did things that weren't normal of beardies.
