Arcadia T5 HO 12% Inside or outside ?

My Viv is 36"x18"x24".

I ordered this fixture with the bulb sold on lightyourreptiles, I'm wondering if I have to have it on top of the mesh or inside the Viv ?

If I put it on top there would be a small area where it wouldn't shine through since my Viv has a mesh screen with a brace in the middle . Would that be ok ?

If it goes inside it'd be at the highest it could be just the 2" of the size that the fixture itself is .

On top should be OK. Those output quite a bit of UVB for a long time. Try to get at least some of the basking area within 10-12'' of the bulb and it should work well.

I like the look of it inside as well . Would it Be ok mounted hanging inside or would it be too much uvb?

Mounting it inside such a small cage will waste a bunch of your height since you need to keep 12-14" away.

^ yeah mounting it inside will require more overhead because you won't have the screen top to intercept some of the UVB and cut down on the effective distance.
