anyone built a screen poop scooper?

i was just wondering if anyones built their own. i have some left over aluminum screen and i have a welding tool. so i was thinking i'd just weld the screen and a tough wire, connected to a handle, together. but if someone has made their own, i'd appreciate it if you can show me some pictures and how you did it. thanks

I don't understand what the point would be. If it was a "shovel" type, you would run the risk of scooting the poo across the substrate as you picked it up, and is it was a two sided "claw scoop" type, you's still have to wipe up any left over mess and liquid anyway.

Well it would be through sand. Have you made one yourself?

No, I have not. I don't keep my dragon on sand as it's quite dangerous.

i dont understand why you're commenting on my post if you haven't made one. it will not only be for my beardies, but for my snakes as well.

Knowing about the risks of sand has nothing to do with whether or not they have built one before. Sand can be dangerous for beardies and is hard to keep clean. Plus poops can get kicked under the sand so it would be super easy to miss unless you are scooping the entire enclosure every day, which seems like a pain.

I used sand for a short amount of time. The poops got removed with a solid cup, and the whole lot got sifted with a small metal kitchen strainer daily. It got old quick and eventually I came across the dig box ideas so I could eliminate the sand completely.
