no petstores are aloowed top have dubias or ANY othetr roach. we have resturants everywhere
Not true!
Maybe not the big chains, but the independent owned store do in Fresno, CA. I know of 3 of our local
pet stores that carry Dubias an one of them carries Turks along with lobsters an a few other varies.
One of these stores are the ones that actually got me interested in the roaches as feeders.
Like I mentioned in a prior post I purchased Turks from a local pet store. An tried breeding just a few first before I ordered my colony. I'm sure that other Californians can also say they have seen these roaches at pet stores for sale. I now of a few stores South of me and a few stores North of me in California that also sell roaches. They sell roaches as pets even. :roll:
The reasons I went with Turk's vs Dubai's was because the Turk's were 25 cents a piece and the Dubai's were 80 cents a piece. Plus I read the nutritional value of each on this site;

The only State that I know for sure that some varieties of roaches are outlawed is Florida. Texas might have restrictions on some varieties too, but this I'm not positive about. There may even be other States that there are restrictions in that I'm not aware of. But in California the only roaches that are considered a problem are the Russian Roach which are the ones that infest ones home or restaurants.
There maybe rules and regulations that they are not following. :dontknow:
As long as a feeder roach has it's needs met it has no reason to look for new areas to infest.
So really there isn't a worry of infestation if you care for them properly.
Edit:
I also wanted to add that a lot of the places that you purchase roaches online are actually located in California.
