Any way to 'rough up' glazed porcelain tiles?

I found the perfect color/design tiles for my girl's viv. The tiles are not shiny & slick but I'm sure there would not be enough texture to them for her to walk easily. Does anyone know if there is any way to add some texture without totally messing up the tiles?

You could paint on a clear coat of safe sealant and then while it's still wet, sprinkle a little sand onto it. This is what many people do for their fake rock walls. Shouldn't change the look and will give you the texture you need.

hmm, good idea. im going to try this on some of my tiles. any sealant in particular?

Shellac, Modge Podge, and water based polycrylic are all safe sealants people have used on fake rock walls.
