any way to make it night four my beardie without being blind

I just got a bearded dragon and I am i love with it. The problem I'm having, however, is this: I know that beardies need a certain amount of darkness at night. I live in a small apartment though and work rather sporadic hours. Is there a way anyone could think of that would make it dark for them without having to sit there in darkness myself? I thought about draping a sheet over its tank but was afraid that would make out too hot or hard to breathe. Any suggestions?

You can cover the cage with a sheet, that'll be fine for them
(as long as you do it after "lights out" -- don't want to burn down the place).

My dragons each have a sleeping blanket (big square of felt/plush fabric).

When it's time for lights out, they get put onto their blanket and covered
over with it. That way, any other lights on in the living room won't bother them.

Then in the morning, I uncover them a few minutes after their lights come on. They'll warm up a bit and then move to their basking spots
(or else they get moved if they are feeling especially lazy that day )

I used to cover the cage with a blanket, but after 1 too many near scares I decided to put up hooks to hold fabric around the cage instead. I had some old blackout curtains from when I worked nights and cut it to size and put some holes in the top of it. I attached command hooks to the outside of his cage to hold up the curtain and it works great. I can leave it up without worrying about them burning and real easy to put on and take off.
