Any way to keep crix quiet?

I can put up with the noise fine, but it is driving my dragon nuts because she can't see them/eat them, but she can hear them. Any time I let Sagura out she always hunts them and finds where I hide them, and then I have to find them a different hiding spot.

I have my cricket bin "tucked away" at the far end of our basement. There's no heat back there, but so far they're doing just fine. Can't hear, see, or smell them. Not sure if this is an option for you.

I've put them in my closet so the sound is very muffled. If they are anywhere in the open Sagura follows their chirping directly to them. It's funny to watch her hunt, but if she's in her cage she'll go to the closest corner possible to them.

You can't shut crickets up. You can try putting them in a closed room on the other side of the house. After months and months of breeding them becuase I honestly don't like bugs, I gave in and switched to roaches. I now believe tropical cockroaches are the greatest thing in the world! Make the switch - You'll be happier and so will your dragon :)

I generaly feed the chirper's first. Being eaten generaly shuts them up  I got one that's lound right now but my dragon ignores it so I guess he's not figured it out what it is yet.

If your dragon is small, then get small crickets. Crickets don't get their wings (which is how they "chirp") until week 5.

I got smaller somewhat baby/or younger ones, the vet wanted me to feed her smaller ones anyway so it's easier for Sagura to digest. So far they haven't made any noise. :)

Dry ice.

Maybe a bit too extreme, but colder temps do slow the boys' chirping. The good news is that you'll never have to look at your thermostat again. Nifty formula... T = 50 + (N - 40) / 4 where T is temperature (F), and N is the number of chirps per minute. And you thought you'd never find a use for order of operators!

And don't pull legs off. That's for shutting grasshoppers up, not crix. Wings would work, though.

The best idea for keeping them quiet is infact inside of something. I dont have a spot big enough for a roach bin or I would make the switch myself. I think im going to try and find a place to stuck these suckers. I buy the 4 week olds and by the time they are all gone I have 50 or so chirping crickets running around :banghead:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
