Any Mega Ray EB 60 watt Owners Please Reply!

Okay so I just got my EB 60 kit and when I plug it in it clicks and lightly flickers for like 30 seconds or so then stops and works normally but it makes kind of a high pitch noise. Like the sound of electricity flowing through power lines ya know. Don't worry I haven't started using it with my dragon yet. Do yall's do this? Will the high pitch noise bother my dragon?

I know of one other beardie owner that tried the Megaray and it made a high pitched noise that drove the beardie crazy, so she has been using the T-Rex ever since and that's what I use. She didn't mention the clicking and flickering though. Perhaps you should call Bob from Reptiluv and see what he thinks about it.

I'm going to call Bob on monday, I was really just wondering if anyone has had this happen or if its normal.

I used to use the EB but it drove me crazy. It didn't make any noise, but for some reason the external ballast didn't always work - I would wake up in the morning to find that Jasper's lights hadn't come on and nothing I could do would help. Then the next day it would work again. I know it does take about 10 minutes of flickering when you first plug it in before it's up to full power.

They redesigned the ballasts recently so that probably wont happen anymore. Did your ballast get hot?
