Any advice on how to keep the beardie perfectly healthy???

Just intrested if there is anything you members do to kepp your little one healthy?
Like preventing Disease and so on??
My beardie is only about 5 months but i just wonderd if theres anything you members do?
bit of background info , and how i could improve?
Fed twice a day usually about 20-40 crix once at about 8 and then at 5..
Butterworm and waxworm every now and then...
4ft viv..all the right lamps..
Bath every other day..
handeld everyday
tank cleaned properly every week...
ANy advice???

As long as you're keeping him in the correct set up then he should live a long and happy life! Bring him to the vet if you are ever concerned with his health

Yes i give him a wide range of salad...he dosent really eat much of it though
The crickets eat it then he eats the crix does that count lol?
and yes i keep the temps consistant, but you dont mean when i take him outa the cage becuase my house isnt the warmist lol

Nah taking him out his cage is fine as long as it's not freezing in your house which I doubt lol. As long as he goes back to his warm tank afterwards it's all good

I believe doing fecal checks on your beardie is a great idea even if it's just once or twice a year. Its so easy for them to contract these things. Especially since alot of our feeder bugs are not raised in our homes as well. And seeing your exotic vet annually is always good. Just so they have a record of what is normal for your pet, so if or when you might need them when your pet is sick they will have a base line to start with. Many people know their dogs and cats should see the vet for yearly routine care, but it's not always the case with reptiles and birds cause they don't typically have to go for vaccines yearly. hmm what type of uvb are you using?tube or light? how long is your uvb from basking spot. what are your temps?what are you taking your temps with? whats your humidity level and what are you taking it with?

I use a UV 10.00 repti glow me thinks.. 100 wt basking lamp temps always around 30 and 24 at night .

i would not use the reptiGlo. here in the UK we have a MUCH better bulb, the arcadia12% (from livefoods.co.uk or some shops). Many of us have had bad expereinces with the reptiGLOs and there hasnt been another independant test on them since the last one 4 or so years ago.

Next time it comes to changing the bulb (every 6months) i would get the arcadia

Well then everything looks good! I agree that a yearly vet check up is a must, and just moniter temps as they can change daily (with the weather outside, and house temp etc)
