:? :? :? :? Please help, I just discovered ANTS... Millions of them in my beardies cage. As I said before, I am new to beardies and have had him for 3 days now. Are they dangerous??? My beardie is not tame and approx 5 mnths old and i havent picked him up yet.....

okay I think we're going to need a run down on the full set up you have for your beardie because ants should not appear in a beardie tank.
So what kind of tank is it?
What temperatures?
What UVB light?
How often do you clean the tank?
Do you take all crickets and other food out of the tank at night?
I would take your beardie out of the tank right now and try to get all the ants out of there and into a secure bin then clean the tank with either pet cage disinfectant or at least warm water. Also give your beardie a warm bath just water nothing else in it up to its armpits. And you should hold your beardie or it will just decide never to be tame with you.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi, Its a wooden tank 1m x 45cm x 55cm with sliding glass doors in front
ReptiZoo UV light 10.0 900mm long
Temps Cold spot 30-34deg C and hot spot 38-41deg C
Artificial lawn floor covering
Havent cleaned cage yet as i only had him for 3 days today
Took cloth and wrapped him up just now to get him out,
Wiped down the cage with hot water
I only leave pellets and water during the evening.
He is handfed so there are never any crickets in the cage
Also give him veggie salds during day but remove in evenings

Must say he squirmed a lot when i tried to get him with the cloth, but once wrapped up he was very calm

Not sure about the temps because I have mines in farenheit but I;m glad you picked him up now try doing it without the cloth and ut him on your top he should be relatively calm just keep trying. As for the ants I'm really not sure maybe pictures of the tank will help. Also a beardie needs a 40 gallon vivarium when it is fully grown which is 3 or 4 foot in size so perhaps you should see about getting one soon. Also I'd love to see a pic of the beardie.

I would try get the cold side the 62.6 to around 80 but other than that I think it looks good you've got to show us a picture of your new beardie.

Are your ants gone? Do you know that the dark spots on your little guys stomach are called stress marks and will go a away when he is all settled in? Now that you've cleaned his cage i suggest that you clean him, give him a nice warm bath every week.

If you have any other care related questions feel free to ask, we will not judge you, just help you.

Yes, I think all the ants are gone now....

Took lesleyg1989's advice and tried to pick him up last night. Without the cloth... was terrified
Started by holding my hand next to him while talking to him and then slowly slid my hand underneath him, and then all of a sudden he climbed onto my hand. :blob5:
I was in shock, and just stood there praising him, and he sat there for a whole minute before climbing off again.
Guess its not much... But its a start

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
