Another poop question

So I did do a search but didn't really find the answer to my question. Here it goes:

So I have had Toa for almost a month now (got him from petco) and since I got him he was pooping everyday before I got home from work (nicer for me since it was so... fresh...). Starting about last Friday or so I noticed when I got home that he hadn't gone, I was a little concerned so I gave him a bath and he went on a towel after I took him out. He went Saturday, but not Sunday (unfortunately didn't get a chance to bathe him) and then went on his own on Monday (in his food dish). Again yesterday no poop. I remember reading somewhere that sometimes adult dragons go every other day or so. Toa is about 5 months. So my question is, is it OK for him to go every other day or should I make sure he goes daily with extended baths?

His basking temp is between 100-110, hot side is around 95-100 and cool side is between 85-90. He is on vinyl tile and his humidity is usually between 20-35%. He gets squash, collard greens, dandelion greens and a few wax worm in the morning and for dinner he gets meal worms, phoenix worms and a few small superworms. He is 14" and weighs a little over 4oz (i need to get a better scale). Also, he just finished his first major shed, he has previously done arms and legs but just finished his body last night. Let me know if you need more info!

Here he is enjoying his bath

Hi there, While true, adults don't always poo every day, Toa is far from an adult.

The amount of food Toa should be eating right now should basically require a daily poo.

You mentioned 100-110 basking spot. Thats kind of strange, why is there such a fluctuation in temperatures? Usually you shouldn't see fluctuations greater than 2 or 3 degrees.

Overall your tank seems kind of hot. Ideally you'd want your basking surface to be around 105, hot side to be in the 90s, and cool side to be 75-80's.

The diet you are feeding him could be backing him up. Mealworms shouldn't be fed at all really. Superworms shouldn't really either at this age. The reptiworms are great as they are a soft bodied worm and easily will pass through the system, along with their great nutritional facts.

Shedding also can cause disturbances in poos. If the behavior of not pooing continues for a week or so, i'd rule out shedding being the problem, and perhaps consider changing some things. Although I do recommend going ahead and stopping with the mealworms completely even if it does end up being shed.

Thanks for the response. I could be off on the temps as I was going off memory but I'll keep an eye on them and see if I can get them down a few degrees. I'll also investigate the fluctuations.

Would crickets be better than mealworms? There is pretty limited feeders available at the local petco. I do order the Phoenix worms online, do you know a website where I can buy the pheonix or reptiworks along with other feeders? What would be better than mealworms. Or should I just stick with pheonix. I know it's good to have variety.

I do have the list from beautiful dragons to go off of, but I'm not sure where to get some of them.

He did go today and it was quite large! But looked normal.

Thanks again!

Crickets would be a much better feeder than mealworms. So if you could replace your mealworms with crickets that would be great.

A good site (imo) to buy a variety of feeders is http://www.mulberryfarms.com
You can buy PW's there, along with silkworms, hornworms, and butterworms to name a few.

I have spent weeks researching various sites for feeders and analyzing cost. I ended going with linda's gone buggy. She offers reptiworms, crickets, silkworms and several other feeders. The shipping is reasonable and customer service amazing(Linda called me personally to let me know she was not happy with her silkworms and did not want to send out inferior worms). She also has very reasonable shipping. Last time I ordered 300 reptiworms and 300 crickets including shipping I figured the cost to be less then $.05 per feeder. Half of what I would pay per cricket at the local PetSmart.

I'll have to check her out. I just ordered from Reptiworms and was pretty impressed with the prices, but anything to save a few bucks! Well, almost anything. lol.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
