My baby has been eating a lot of turnip greens and squash. I am just wondering if there is such a thing as too much. This past week, I keep adding more and more greens to his dish because he keeps eating it all and I am not really sure if it is something that is supposed to be available to him at all times of day. He is just so little and it seems like he is eating so much compared to his size. Yesterday he ate an entire turnip green leaf!

I am really nervous about supplementing with vitamin powder because he eats so many greens. I was expecting him to eat more 80% Crickets and 20% greens but it seems like it is more 50/50. I am offering him enough crickets but he is just not eating them all.

Do I need to give him less greens/veggies?

Ok I have only had my beardie a month so im no expert but I think it is ok to let him eat as much greens as he wants, with in reason of course. I wouldnt let him eat more than you think his tummy can take. People say that they will eat until they are full and no more but not sure. I would be sure to cut up the greens into bit size peices through.

I have a bowl 5 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches deep. I fill this halfway with cutup veggies and top with dubia or red runners. This is left in all day. Some days she eats almost all of it other days she only eats a few bites. She eats alot but because I'm not giving crickets the feeders can be in all day too. she eats when she is hungry and stops when full. If you are worried give the feeders first then the salad after yours eats feeders.

My personal belief? Give them as much salad as they want. Think of humans - Eating four very healthy salads (made just like you would for a dragon) or even more than that wouldn't hurt a human - and I don't think it'd hurt a dragon.

Sometimes Tiki will absolutely demolish her salad in five minutes - therefore she gets a new one.

I hear too many times on this board about people being so frustrated because their dragon won't even TOUCH a salad. Count yourself lucky ;)

Absolutely correct! When Mojo starts clearing her plate I will get a second and feed the feeders separate so I can fill the salad bowl full.

Ok thanks for the input. Basically I kind of have to give him the salad first just because of how my schedule is. I turn on his lights when I wake up for work and first thing in the morning, he doesn't really let me near him. If he is near where his salad bowl is, when I reach in to grab it, he will run away. I guess he is just kinda grumpy in the morning. So anyway as soon as I wake up in the morning I usually put his salad in there. I attempt live feeders feeding number 1 during my lunch break and live feeders number 2 when I get home for the day. The past couple of days, I have been putting canned crickets in with his salads and he has been picking at those. It looks like he might be getting ready to shed again...he started shedding right after we got him and hasn't really stopped. Poor baby :(

I ordered Phoenix worms which should be here thurs or fri. I am hoping I can just feed him those with some tongs.

It looks like Pouncey is a worm boy. I picked up my 100 pack at the post office and he has already eaten half of it. At first I only put in 10 and he ate them right up so I put in another 20...ate them up again so I took out the container to get more and he started glass dancing and going nuts. When I put his bowl back in I couldn't putnit down fast enough. He is acting like he has never eaten!

Now I just need to figure out if I want to invest in a wine cooler thing.

Personally I think it would be worth it. Not sure when I'll be able to get one but I plan on it eventually.

I would love to get one...I just know that if I do, the only thing I would ever use it for is storing his worms. Also the worms are really tiny so I worry that he will outgrow them and then I will be left with a wine fridge that I will never use.

I wish they made a mini fridge that had a bigger temperature range. I found one but it was discontinued.

Sometimes that is normal especially when they are babies. From what I read the easiest ways to get them to eat salad are a.)withholding other food or b.) mixing repltiworms in with their salad.

Also I am on week 3 with my boy and just this week his appetite has like...quadrupled. He has had 70 Phoenix worms and 3 bowls of salad today. I can't believe how much these little things can eat in relation to their size!

There is one on ebay generally listed if you search incubators I think, can heat AND cool. By Think Geek or if they do not have any one ebay they have a website. Nevermind I went to their website but could not find it GRRR. I believe waxworms need to be cooled, and it can be used to keep the beardie greens from accidentally being eaten by the family if you have voracious children like mine lol!

There is absolutely NO concern about accidentally eating his greens in this house haha. After about 6 days, they start to wilt and I throw them in with the crickets. I can't wait until that is over!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
