Am I Doing Something Wrong?

Sorry that my first post is asking for help but I really need help. I just got an adult male bearded dragon a week ago. He is already about 5 and he was tam when I got him. I have given him crickets, mealworms, super worms, and veggies and he eats everything. I can hold him and he will sit with me but when I try to take him outside he goes crazy and he won't let me even touch him! He bit me yesterday and I tried again today and he went crazy. I have a pen for him to go into and he is fine when I get him in there but its the transferring him back and fourth. Any thoughts. Again I'm sorry for this being my first post but I don't want to be bit again!

Honestly he probably saw birds. They freak out BAD when there's birds around. You said you feed him Mealworms? Don't feed those they aren't that good as they can cause blockages and they have nothing in them that a beardie could use nutritionally. Otherwise its fine.

But yeah going outside if good for sun and things, just get him a little harness with a leash so that if he DOES freak out and go spastic you wont lose him or he wont hurt himself. Just be careful.

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure if its the bird thing because he is fine once in his pen. If I try to take him out of his pen he freaks or when I take him to his pen he freaks. Is it hes just not the tam outside? And I will look into a harness for him.

Hi there....one thing to try is putting him in a box to transport him in + out. That should do the trick.
