Always mad

ive had my bearded dragon for about 2 weeks shes about a year old, and i handle her a fair amount. She recently got super mad at me & her beard turned black, but im not doing anything different? I tried taking her out again today & the same thing happened. The full 2 weeks ive had her she hasnt gotten mad & idk what to do.

They can get moody sometimes. If the black beard goes away relatively quickly then it's probably just a mood. I would leave her alone for a little while and try handling again later. Their moods don't tend to last too long in most cases. Perhaps a shed has her irritated a bit.

It could be any number of things such as you smelling different, or her not wanting to be disturbed when basking.

If she carries on blackbearding when being handled, perhaps handle shortly before lights out as she should naturally be a bit sleepy and feel calmer.
