so my beardie has had some trouble pooping lately but it seems like its happening more often than it should.

his temps are between 110- 120 max ( i know they get pretty high i'm about to transfer him into a new tank so i'm hoping the bigger space will even out the temps )

he gets pheonix worms sometimes superworms (rarely cuz i find they make his troubles worse) wax worms ( on occasion the die fast and are expensive lol )

crickets in the summer ( in the winter time he stops eating crickets for some reason lol hes a prince dont ask lol

and then for veggies endive red lettce green leaf lettuce sometimes dandelion greens ( he doesnt really like them ) collard greens kale everyonce in a while and then sometimes belgian endive ( its yelow ) for extra moister when hes being alitle stubborn with his food.

he gets his worms 2 times a week ( i find if i give him anymore than that and he wont eat his salad )

and then his greens every day ( he usually goes 3 or 4 days in a row of eating them and then sometimes he skips a couple days but i'm starting to think he's doing that because of his pooping issues ?? )

UVB is a repti glow t8 its still good till february ( i have a reptisun 10.0 on order for a while i thought they were the same thing.... )

i bathe him 2-3 times a week

i just dont know what i could be doing wrong.... his urrates are sometimes hard and sometimes hard i've been dropping water on his nose with a dropper between baths sometimes he drinks and somtimes he doesnt i took him to the vet for another issue with his hands ( they are healing verry nicely atm soo happy about that ) and she said to check the humidity levels in his tank and they are fine....

so i really dont know what else i can do i'm worried that this could be a symptom of something ??

he shed probably about a week ago on his face and head.

he never has any other severe symptoms of impaction no paralysis or nothing i usually check daily by his vent for poops lol and if i notice hit belly feels i guess bloated ?? or pudgy ?? and his food was ignored for the day and the day before then i stick him in an extra warm bath right away and that usually seems to help get the poop out but lately i've been having a harder time helping him go and i'm worried that he will go into a full blow impaction or worse he'll prolapse....

any one have any idea or thoughts anything i'm missing or doing wrong ??

( I've also tried giving him raspberries recently and he just sat on them lol like i said he's a prince lol )

thanks again in advance

Hello,

I would definitely try to get the temperatures down, as dehydration can cause harder urates which will contribute to being impacted.
The Reptiglo 10, that is a tube bulb correct, the T8? The Reptiglo UVB lights are not usually the best ones, in my opinion & don't have very good UVB emissions. He may have low calcium which is a major contributing factor for having trouble going to the bathroom. I would highly recommend changing the light out to either a Reptisun 10 tube bulb or an Arcadia D3 12% tube bulb, for a much better UVB output for him.
How often do you give calcium for him?
Is he walking, running & climbing without any trouble?

yes an 18" tube the t8 :)

i am thinking up upgrading the size of his uvb bulb but i want to see how it looks in his new tank first but i also need to change the bulb and i hve the reptisun 10.0 t8 tube on order just so i can make sure he's all good....

i've also been looking into geting i think its called a dimmer ?? or temperature control thing ....

i havent been dusting his food altely just becaue i thought that maybe the hard urrates were caused by too much calcium ?? so that was a factor the vet said that his calcium deposits ?? were looking good ( i'm not sure how she knows that just by looking at him )

so far he jumped and climbs like a little speed demon lol

my other concern is he keeps trying to burmate and i dont want him to sleep if he needs to poop

an update he did poop ( i put him in the shower that seems to be the big trick to get him to go lately)

but he pooped twice like not like alot of poop but there were two seporate portions of urrates..... and that has me conerned i re evaluated my temps and they have dropped a bit ( we lowered the temp in the house and that seems to be helping... i am still thinking of getting him a temperature control outlet i'm just worried because i've read reviews of them malfunctioning and causing problems.)

they are closer to 110 and -115 now it seems though the bulb has spikes in temps like one minute itll be perfect and then a few minutes later i'll check again and its gotten hotter again and then i'll check a third time and its dropped again....

should i start dusting his salads again and see if that helps?? ( i'm just worried that maybe the urrates were caused by too much calcium and vitamins)

thanks again for the help

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
