Alternatives to Powersun?

I am wondering if there is anything on the market comparable to the Powersun bulbs that lasts longer, and is better cost effective? I have 2 Powersuns in my house, and it seems like every time I turn around one needs to be replaced without warning. I thought maybe it was the lamps electrical, so I replaced both lamps, and I still have problems. I save my receipts, but because of store policy if its been longer than 2 weeks I have to pay full price.. Powersun bulbs are supposed to last at least 2000 hours, I barely get 2 months if I'm lucky.. Is there a better product out there?

I'm not sure about alternative MVBs, but I believe PowerSuns have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Maybe that'd be something to look into? :study:

Yeah, when I return it, the pet store always wants it back so they get the manufacturers credit for it... Usually when the bulbs go out I'm not in a position to wait for ZooMed to send me another bulb. This time I'll buy 2, so if it goes out again I can go through the manufacturer. Maybe they will send me a new one without having to pay, not even for shipping and handling.. I highly doubt it though.. This is so frustrating, that's why I want to see if there's a better bulb out there altogether!

So no one knows of a better bulb than the PowerSun?!?! I think I just found out how to make millions! Hahaha!!
