Yes you would eventually have a lot if you did everything right. You can sell the extras when your colony gets too big and it would pay for your initial start up cost and eventually start paying for your costs of operation if you were able to sell them constantly or had a reliable source to sell to.

ahaha all you guys gave me a good laugh :)

if i breed them, would i eventually have a lot, and i mean a lot for what my beardie would eat? I wouldn't know what to do with them if that happened o_O and that would be really freaky if they got out

also, what you can do to slow down and/or stop the breeding is drop the temperature into the 70s

85 to 95 = nice and cozy, lets get it on!!
70s = too damn cold, not interested in mating.

as for roaches, doesn't any body worry about a couple getting loose and turning your home into a NYC apartment? (aka infested)
LOL, yes but, I thought it just came with the territory of having them. If mine got loose I would have to move as I am raising turkistan roaches. They breed more rapidly then dubia's as they lay egg cases every 1-2 weeks, with about 20-30 roaches per. Dubias lay live babies making them breed somewhat slower. Having a stable container or a good lid can help this thought of "Joe's Apartment" from coming true.

Well honestly, I've had a few escape and they have all shown up dead sooner or later.

It is very unlikely that they will breed and infest your house. They are a tropical roach, they need the heat and the humidity. They are slightly picky breeders too. If the temp isn't just right, they won't do it lol.

You really don't have to worry about them infesting your house.

Yeah, Silks and hornworms are very expensive. Probably why I've never used them as a staple lol.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
