Alright I think I got it right.

I went out today and bought a 24 inch Reptisun 10.0 UVB bulb and fixture. That darn bulb was $52.99. I put it on top of my tank and It just looks like it doesnt put off much light. Is it suppose to put out alot of light and is one bulb enough? I have my little guy in a 20 long until he gets a little bigger so should I put the light in front,back or middle? Also from the picture below can someone guess his age. I was told he was 1.5 years old when I got him from Petco which im pretty sure they are wrong. Anyway thanks alot for all of your help its untelling what kind of set-up my little guy would have if it wasnt for BeardedDragon.org.

you should put it so the hole tank gets light and you still can get the heat lamp on. mine wasn't all that bright. petmountain.com is cheaper to get the bulb from. how long is you dragon. i don't think it is a 1 1/2 years old. it doesn't look big enough.

The UVB light should be placed over where the dragon spends most of his time, like where he eats or basks. Some fixtures have shields over them that block some of the light- you can remove that if yours has one. I would guess your beardie to be about 5 months old, but it's hard to say not knowing his lineage or how well he was fed up till now. Hope your saving up for a big tank- those suckers grow fast! He is very cute and lucky to have someone that is making an effort to give him the best home possible.
