I'm planning on ordering tonight or tomorrow since my colony is ready to be occupied.
Who do you think has the best deal, roaches, etc...
Thanks. :D

I have used both, and have been totally satisfied with both ! So there you are. Just pick one this time, and the other next time ;) That way you can judge for yourself who you prefer, or both ;)

you already got your answer since I've seen you going bonkers over the breeders kit you got lol. However, thought I'd chime in and say that, as with ANY breeding activity for just about ANY animal, diverse genetics makes for a much hardier brood. Get your breeding staple from a trusted breeder then every year or so get samples from other breeders to introduce to keep the breeding pool robust. Keeps the bugs happy, keeps the dragons happy, and in the end... keeps the bug stores happy too lol

There are no "new" strains of B. Dubia within the united states, as all current breeding stock has originated from the same imports. Regardless of who you order from, your not getting any new genetics. Also, some of you might be suprised just how little diversity there is when it comes to breeding tropical roaches, especially B. Dubia. If you were to work hard enough, you can trace all current colonies back to the original suppliars regardless of who you buy from. Where do you think new roach suppliars get their colonies? They don't import them, thats for sure.

This is true for most any non-native tropical roach species. I should say, it isn't necessarily a bad thing, as roaches being rather simple creatures can be bred for many thousands of generations with no new genetic input. Anyone buying roaches should be more concerned about husbandry practices, and cost than genetic diversity.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
