All my fault

SO I am the person that is always talking about potty trained Dragons on here and how easy it is and how everyone should do it. All you have to do is put them on a schedule and stick to it and blah blah blah. And about how they dont like to be in the viv with poop and will meet you more than halfway on this potty training thing. Just get them on a schedule and stick to it.

I should follow my own advice.

I was off from work today, and didnt get up until 9:30. Big Bertha's lights came on at 05:00 and woke her up and got her nice and toasty. Where was I? Still in bed sleeping. What was waiting for me when I finally got up? A poopy viv, a poopy Dragon, poopy blankies, a poopy hide and Bert sitting on top of the hide giving me the nastiest stink eye ever. She did her part, and I didnt do mine. I felt bad because she obviously hated being the viv with the poop. My fault entirely.

I got to think about whose fault it was the whole time I was cleaning up the nasty mess. That schedule is important!

I know that stink eye! I get the same one from Bob if his poo sits in his viv too long. He has never gone during baths but if it sits in his viv more that 10 minutes, he feels it is necessary to do a little tap dance through it to get through to me that it is not ok to let it sit. All I have to say is the beardie is the boss. So his poo gets cleaned ASAP.

I shouldn't laugh but I can just picture the stink eye you got. My guess is the schedule will be stuck too. My Cooper don't like poo and will bang on the glass if there is some in his viv. His way of saying.....GET IT OUT OF HERE!!!! Palmer will bang on the glass until you let him out because he prefers to poo on my floor. I keep trying to get him out and have him go on paper but no such luck. His isn't on scheduler either just when he bangs on the glass and I know what he is up too. If you don't let him out........You guessed it he will make a mess and look at you with stink eye!!! Good thing my shampooer does a good job. I have to say it gets old though. Paper potty would be great.

The bad part is that she probably was banging on the glass, but I was not hearing
Her. I swear, the look she gave me was like "Look at wht you MADE me do!

when my Beardie, Ace lays the poop down, it's almost as if he gets mad at ME for him pooping... he flares and darkens his beard out, and claws at the glass all over the place until i clean it out... its quite amusing to watch this happen. once i clean it out, he goes back to his normal relaxed self and gets all happy again... :p

:laughing6: Sorry for laughing, but you have to admit that it is quite funny. We work so hard to have them adhere to OUR schedules, but the first time we deviate from that, we pay for it big time with a massive cleanup job.

oh, yeah, I was laughing the whole time I cleaned it up!
Sometimes, I think I sing the praises of potty trained dragons too much. When I tell someone on here about out our schedule, I always say, don't deviate from the schedule! I have my schedule saved in a document so I can cut and paste it in when I post about it to someone with questions.
I am the big "Know it All" when it comes to potty training Dragons. Except I can't follow my own directions.

You know what happens to Dragon slaves that can't follow a schedule?

Melody's Potty Trained. How did I do this? Well, I trained her to go outside her tank. When it was summer and very hot, I'd take her outside and she'd do her business. She did it twice a day...and soon she learned to go outside. Now it's cold, I had to resort to her bathtub being the bathroom. I do clean it out with a solution of warm water and vinegar, or hand sanitizer. Now I don't have to worry about dirty tanks-and she usually goes in there by accident.

I even bought a child's play yard for her to run around in and watch tv.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
