Alex's new viv with pics

So I put Alex in his new 'diggs' tonight. We converted the end of my sons old loft bed into a new temporary viv for Alex. Hopefully it will be fine till spring and we will build a 4x2x2 one. It measures 40x18x18. So far things are fine, but when I took the photo's I noticed the temps on the basking spot were 107. I will change to a lower wattage bulb in the morning. I am still working on the decorating on the cool end, will finish that tomorrow. He was in there for about 2 hours before lights out and seemed to love it. Usually he is a morning pooper, but felt comfortable enough to relieve himself within 10 minutes.... go figure!

It was once a loft bed. One end of the bed was a built in desk with 3 drawers, the bed sat on top. We no longer use that bed, but used that end in the garage to store stuff. We just basically enclosed the desk part with a door, put in vents on the sides, and hooked up the lights. I can take a pic of it tomorrow though, Elly and Alex are sleeping right now and I don't want to wake them...

You don't think 107 is too high??? I thought it was up to 105...

Oh I gotcha!! I was thinking there was still a bed there, I thought that would've looked cool!!
My sister has the same type of bed, so now that you explained it, I understand, no need for pictures unless you want to post them

Nope, 105-110 is ideal for beardies, I was surprised as well when I first learned, I thought it would roast the poor guys :?
But they need the heat for proper digestion.

Before I changed to a 150 watt, I had a 75watt in and it only got up to 90, so I changed it.
