Ahh power went out!

Okay so apparently I provided my wrong CVV number on my debit card and my power payment never went through! They didn't try to call me or anything, they just shut off the power today! My husband got home at like 4pm and all the power was off. Lillie, our dragon, was hiding in her cave and (from what my husband says) Lillie was ice cold! I feel SO terrible! So he held her against his skin to keep her warm and then gave her a warm bath (which Im not sure was the best idea?!) and now she's wrapped in a blanket with hand warmers on the outside of the blanket. They said they'll be turning on the power today, but didn't say when.

Will she be okay? We've never experienced this before. Typically her lights are out at 7pm. Should I keep her awake longer if the power comes back on so she can warm back up? We live in WA and it's probably about 55* right now.

She will be OK after such a short time. Just warm her up in the basking spot for some extra time tonight. We always kept lots of hand warmers available in case of a power outage. You could also connect the lights to a computer UPS to keep the lights going for a while in a small outage. http://www.amazon.com/APC-BE750G-Saving-Battery-Back-UPS/dp/B000Z80ICM

That is a great idea. I didn't know they had those battery pack strips! I will definitely have to look into those. Not a bad idea for a sudden power outage. Thank you!

If the power is still out just hold her to keep her nice and warm until it comes back.

If you have a probe thermometer place it beside her. When we lost power here for 5 days I used hand warmers. The hand warmers can get really hot. I would check the temps every hour. At one point the temp was 116.

Very true. I should clarify - We have a big shoebox that is used for transport and it is filled with old towel pieces as blankets. The hand warmers go at least one layer of towel below the dragon. No direct contact. The heat is enough to warm the blankets and the shoebox. Great for emergencies or long car rides and quite cheap to stockpile.

Oooh good to know! I did come home (the power was back on!) and noticed that those hand warmers do get pretty darn warm!!

How is she doing today?

I think she's good! By the time I got home she was really warm and her tank had already heated up to the normal 90-105*, but I did keep her lights on just a little longer than normal so she could fully heat up. And she was pearly white and happy :p

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
