Agressive beardie?!

This is my third bearded dragon. My first two were extremely nice and would let you hold them and pet them but this one is the complete opposite. If I open his cage he turns into defense mode and starts running all over the entire cage like a maniac. I'll calmly try and pick him up to put him into his feeding cage and he runs all over and jumps out of my hand for no reason. He acts like I'm going to murder him. If he gets in a corner I'll slowly reach to pick him up by putting my hand underneath him and he will open his mouth like he wants to bite it but he never does. This is what happens every day and I'm sick of it. Btw he is still a baby. I have never been able to pick him up easy and I've been doing this for 2 months. Please help and is there anything I can do to reverse this?? It drives me insane because he acts so crazy.

It sounds like either something is bothering him or he just has a more defensive personality. How is his appetite? Is he pooping regularly? If his appetite is good, then I'd try holding him in the evening when he's likely to be more calm. If you hold him around or just after lights out he may be more receptive and eventually get to be calmer around you.

He eats fine and poops regularly. He is very healthy and I haven't noticed anything wrong with him. It's just his defensive behavior. I have no idea why.

Whats his enclosure and environment like?
Does he respond better when he is fed in his enclosure?

His enclosure is exactly how it's supposed to be. Has reptile carpet, reptisun uva/uvb light, has one hot side, and one cooler side, has a giant mountain rock, a basking rock, a few shady hiding caves, a hammock, a fake cactus, he is just defensive for some reason. I have no idea why.
