Aggressive Beardie

Hello everyone, I'm a new dragon mom to a 2 year old male named Excalibur. I just picked him up on Monday (now Saturday) from a family who had kids that weren't interested in him anymore. They said he hasn't been handled in a while and I can tell. He definitely hates my had being near him unless I have bugs or blueberries for him. Yesterday I tired picking him up to move him and he tried jumping out of my hands. I didn't want him to hurt himself so I caught him with my left hand and he bit my finger, broke the nail in half, and it bled for quite a while. This in no way makes me afraid of him. I want to form a bond with him but he hates any contact and twitches his head like he's going to bite if you touch his head. As said before, he's very willing to eat from my hand and I talk to him all of the time when I'm not at work. How do I tame him? I understand it's only been about 5 days and it takes time. I'm looking for tips and how not to get bit again. Thank you!

I'd say continue hand feeding him, take him out only for a short while a day in a place he can't run away from(like a bathroom), give it a rest if he is still resisting and try again in a couple days. Also, wear gloves.
