Randal is FINALLY EATING AGAIN!!! Some of you may remember from last year my struggles with Randal eating. If you don't, here's the link: [ Invalid URL Removed / p= t=82726 f=6 ]
Well anyway, I'm happy to say that after almost a year, hundreds of dollars of x-rays, blood tests, fecal exams, new lights, hours worth of bathing, feeding babyfood, soy yogurt, jumpstart, repti-aid, and coaxing, Randal has finally started to eat on his own again. We bought a cup of waxworms a few weeks ago at the reptile expo sine we had no live feeders and waxworms were all the vendor had left. Everyday for the past year I've been putting food in front of Randal and he gives the look like he's going to eat it, but then just ignores it. Well a this past Friday, he finally ate the worm! He ended up eating about 5 waxworms that day. That night, we had a nice big poop So the next day he got more. And again, another poop Several more Sunday and Monday, and then even about 7 superworms yesterday! Now I know since he's over a year old, he shouldn't be getting to many live feeders. But right now, I'm just happy he's eating anything! And we've had poop everyday since We took Brody (the new iggie) to the vet on Saturday morning for his first visit, and the vet asked us about Dante and Randal. We told him that as of the previous day, Randal finally started eating again. The vet couldn't believe it took an entire year! He said the longest he's ever heard of was about 6-8 months, but this was a record.
He's so much more active too now. Not hiding and sleeping as much. I was dreading this coming winter thinking he was going to go completely to sleep, considering this is when he started slowing down last year. But apparently, he's finally waking up
Hopefully tonight I'll get home at a decent time so I can post some updated pics of the draggies and new pics of the iggie. Who knows, maybe I can get an action shot of Randal eating for proof  And of course, I need to post their Christmas card
