Aerogarden?

Has anyone used one to grow food for their BD? It's winter here & since I'm an avid cook my boyfriend got me an Aerogarden for V-Day so I can grow my own herbs in the house. I immediately wondered if I can give some of what I grow to my dragon in his salads - save a lot of trips to the store & rotten veg! It's too small for things like large lettuces, but most of what I can grow is in the "black" section of the beautifuldragons nutrition chart. & since he's still a young one he eats more bugs than salad, so would salads of all "black" items be okay to offer, considering he doesn't eat them every day?
