Hi all,

So, my dragon has been voraciously devouring his salads lately. Then one day they were out of collards and turnip greens at the store and the only thing I could find was Kale. He doesn't like kale but I figured it was better than nothing, so I bought it. He ignored his salad for a couple days, and I kept checking the store until fresh collards came in a few days later. Put in a salad of collards, he ignored it. He's been ignoring it for several days now. I put raspberries on it today (his favorite fruit) and he ate two of them, but left three of them there and didn't eat any collards. And he hasn't pooped in I would say at least four days. :( He also doesn't seem very active, he just lays on his basking spot.

But when I give him roaches, he perks up instantly and chases them down. He would probably eat a dozen of them if I let him.

So... is he okay? :(

edit: Forgot to include, I have a Reptisun 10.0, and my dragon is about 1.5 years old.

Could he be brumating? My boy just started this past week or so. He ate salads every single day the whole summer, and one day he decided he didn't want them anymore and went off to sleep in the corner. And that's what he's been doing ever since LOL.
Their digestive system slows down a LOT when they brumate too, so that could explain him not going in 4 days.

I thought about that, but isn't it too early in the year? I thought that was a fall/winter thing... And he still devours his roaches, so it's not like he has no appetite at all. He's just not interested in his salads...

He didn't brumate last winter, so I didn't do much reading on the subject. Guess I should do some research since he's an adult now and will be brumating.

That's what I thought so too LOL, but some beardies (Including mine) will start brumation in August.
Dudley will still eat live feeders too right now. When they loose interest in food, it seems like they stop eating their veggies first and stop eating their buggies more gradually.

Oh jeez... Guess I'll do some more research into brumation.

Is there anything else it could be? Or any way to know for sure that it's brumation, so I can stop worrying so much?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
