I am really just venting about some of the shocking ads that you see with photographs of very sick bearded dragons. Not to depress or upset anyone, but I wonder if the animal depicted in this ad is even alive: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/pet/3735612784.html. Others like this: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/pet/3730261856.html look like they may be able to be helped, but I am sure that the costs of rehabbing animals in this type of shape is significance. I know that it is probably at least in part ignorance at work, but at some point it is sick to neglect an animal to the point that many of these poor creatures have been neglected.

God that's awful, and makes me angry. That first ad is really shocking and horrible. Is anyone in that area able to help him? Maybe a rescue train?

this is heartbreaking that someone keeps those wonderful pets in those filthy conditions I would like to place them in a filthy jail cell and starve them

It took me a few minutes to find the head, and it looks like he is holding it up slightly and his eyes are open, so there may be some hope yet if someone can get him the heck out of there. I'm in Canada, and it's just not possible for me to do anything. Has anyone emailed the first poster to see about fixing his conditions a bit?

You may want to post this in the rescue forum. Some people put ads up similar to these to alert people who may live near enough to rescue them. You can title the thread something like " Can anyone help these beardies " Sometimes kind hearted beardie lovers will come to their rescue.

I will never understand how abusing a dog or cat will sometimes cost people jail time or big fat tickets for animal cruelty but doing this to these animals is just sick. I really feel bad for these animals and I hope they go to someone or somewhere better then where they are with these *insert random word for these stupid people*. Sorry for language it just makes me mad :angry5: to see so many posts about these cute animals being treated this way. :puke:

I have the space and the wherewithal to handle the little guy in the first ad if I can get a train to bring him to Dallas this weekend. How can we make this happen? I can meet the last leg in Durant, OK.

Hello,
Has anyone spoken to the owner yet?
I sent them an email to let them know there was someone interested in the dragon and that we were just trying to work out a travel train. I'm hoping the owner may be willing to drive a few miles to meet up with someone and do a trade off. I just looked at the add again, and god he looks to be in really poor shape. I hope we can get him to you in time.
I wish I could do more.

W055 (mind if I call you "Woss"?) thank you for contacting the Craislist poster. I will make positive contact when we've got the train ready.

LOL, Woss. I don't mind.

I have not heard back from the email I sent to the poster. I tried to text the number, but my phone will not let me text internationally.
Anyone else tried to text the number provided?

I've texted the Craigslist poster to say I'm interested and trying to arrange transport.

I have made positive contact and I'm working on getting more details.

UGH.. I can't stand people! How can anyone think it's ok to treat a living animal like this?? Please let us know how it goes.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
