I have just adopted a beardie after not owning one for several years, I used to breed them and once had 5 of these beauties but personal circumstances meant I had to reluctantly rehome them.
I'm a little rusty although things are coming back to me the more I research. I was given her along with a full set up that included a very old UV tube .. first thing I have done is replace it for a Repti 10.0. My next replacement will be the ceramic heat bulb for an actual light .. do I need to do this or will the ceramic (attached to a thermostat) along with the new UV be ok?
My question today though .. is it worth treating my new beardie with some panacur as a precaution? I do not know how well she was screened for parasites by her previous owner and she looks a little underweight and is quite pale inside her mouth. Her appetite is good and she isn't lethargic. I'm probably just jumping the gun but want to be sure that her life with me starts the best possible way. Maybe I should just take her to the vet and get them to run a fecal test but it's just an added expense I'd rather not fork out for when a sachet or two of panacur costs pennies.
Any advice guys n gals?
