Addicted to Wax Worms :(

Uhh after all the warnings and times I have been told not to use them Darwin is officially addicted to wax worms. It started as him just being lethargic for about a day and it was also when his eye was swollen and being weird. So I just gave him wax worms because he couldn't hunt well. (I used Saline Contact Solution and it's better now) It was for about 7 days only eating wax worms and veggies. And now he will not even touch his crickets. So I am going to not feed him for a few days. Good idea?

Sorry to hear about your trouble with him eating, but let me tell you this is normal. Beardies go through random stages of when they will have certain cravings for foods, just like us humans. Stay away from not feeding him, that will only mess up his appatite, and isn't good for him. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with him, my beardie use to love crickets, now i just drop them in his cage and they live with him, eventually he will start to grow a craving for them sooner or later. However, I suggest you stay away from wax worms, if he tends to eat a lot of them, theres a good chance that he will become fatter as he grows. Try feeding him mealworms, which are low in fat and my beardie loves them, and there about the same price. Plus the live a lot longer.

Stay away from the meal worms. How old/big is your bd? Can you offer different worms, and maybe trick him? My little girl will eat a butter worm over a wax worm any day. They smell sweet, even to me. Maybe you can get some of those, or some fruit. Try to entice her to eat before you have to starve her. Try several options.

He is about 5-6 months only 8 1/2 inches. I know to stay away from meal worms and all I have is wax worms and crickets. I am trying to buy silkworms but don't know where else to buy from besides Mulberry Farms which is sold out. I have veggies in the tank with him now.

so what are the best type of worms to buy them, butter worms and wax worms arn't good for them, too fatty
