In the last two weeks, my Bearded Dragon has been acting weird. On one day, she will be normal, basking a lot, eating fine and being alert. And on another day she could start falling asleep under her basking log and then she would get out, eat some salad and then start becoming very active and climbing on the sides of her terrarium.

She is a year old now, about 17 inches long and has a reptisun 10 uv bulb.
She is also pretty fat.. I recently started cutting down a little on her superworms (I offer a salad in the morning and keep it there for her all day long, then in the afternoon, I offer her about 5-10 superworms)
and she still hasn't lost weight.. She also has bowel movements every 2-3 days.

Can someone help me out?

Her weight could be due to she is getting way to many supers for a adult. She should only have 20 or so a week, at her age she should mostly be eating greens.

Hello,

It could possibly be brumation, or it could be something else. Does she exhibit any restless type of behavior, like running back & forth in her tank, or appearing to look for places to dig, etc?
If she continues to act this way, you might want to take her to the vet for an x-ray to see if she has or is developing eggs. They can develop follicles under 1 year of age.
How many superworms does she get weekly? Since she is an adult now, for the most part, she can subsist on 20-30 superworms a week along with greens & veggies.
How long has she been heavier like this? Do you have any pictures of her?

Thanks for the replies. She recently had a bowel movement (her urate looked very weird) which made her very active for some reason. Before this bowel movement, she used to sleep and hide (started a few days to a week before the bowel movement occurred). Ever since the bowel movement, she has been acting fine while basking (sometimes glassdacning) but when I take her out, she will start running all over the place and sometimes she would go into a small crack somewhere and start digging. She also digs sometimes under her basking log. I've tried lay boxes several times before (before the sleepiness) and she just kept jumping out! If she does have eggs, this would be her second time, so it should be easier for her this time. Any ideas when she will be ready to lay? (If she has eggs) She currently gets about 25-30 supers a week and she eats about 1/2 - 3/4 of her salad everyday.
She has been getting heavier ever since I rescued her :S. When I got her at 6 months old-54grams/8inches at about 8 months-184grams/about 14inches 12-13months-520grams-17-18 inches
I will post pics of her tomorrow.

Thanks

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
