My Beardy is doing my head in. She hides all day under any piece of furnature she has in her viv. She is always dark in colour. I have taken her to the vet and she has coccidia which she is now an meds for and get bene-bac daily. She doesnt touch her greens although i have offered everything. I give her roaches every day which she will only eat two or three.
I have moved her to another part of the livingroom as i thought this would make a difference. she was orrigonally next to the budgies. Nope!
I have offered silkworms (canned as i cant get a hold of live), crickets and roaches. She just doesnt want them. I give her 3ml water through a syringe daily and bath her once a week to keep her hydrated as she wont eat any veg.
Her live food is dusted with Reptimineral which has calcium and i also have multivitamin powder which is given three times a week.
she is a year and a half old.

Viv temps- 80 cool side and 95-102 basking
Lights - Reptilsun 30w 6000k 36% UV-A 8% UV-B ( placed 6inch up from viv floor.) basking light - Reptiland 75w reflector spot lamp
Viv has just been completley cleaned and sterilised.
HELP!!!!! i have run out of ideas.

I'd start with yanking out the UVB Bulb and seeing if she comes out after that. If she does then you know she's hiding from her UVB Rays. If this is the case Switch out your ReptilSun to a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB T8

Also, maybe up the soaks to every other day, 20 minutes. I'm not familiar with the Powders your using. I've been using ZooMed Reptivite, and Rep-Cal Phosphorous free W/ D3 in a 50/50 combo on all Feeders, I leave my Beardies salad plain.

I'm sorry you haven't had any other advice - I know it is frustrating to have a sick beardie. :( What medication have they given you for the coccidia? What time of day do you give it to her?

When you are giving the probiotic (Bene-bac), what time of day are you giving it to her?

I think Tracie (Drache613) is the best person to help you since your beardie is on medications and has a known problem. If you can PM her, that would be very helpful.

In the meantime, fill us in on the actual medications, dosage, and times that you are giving them and the probiotics.

I dont recognise the powders myself lol. It had calcium D3 and vits. Im in germany and its hard to find my normal stuff that i use.
She has had one 3 or 4ml dose of Baycox and one 5.5ml dose of Panacur ( not sure if thats the correct spelling i cant read the vets writing lol) She has one more 5.5ml dose of Panacur to have on 1st march then a week later is getting another fecal check.
She gets her Bene-bac three hours before her bed time 4pm and i feed her half an hour after giving her it. Not that she eats much. But i make sure she eats at least either a roach or a couple silk worms( canned) She has a night light at the moment to keep the viv warm for the bene-bac to work to its full.
I give her her greens in the morning before i leave for college.

When we gave our dragon Panacur, we were told to give a Probiotic just like Bene-bac. I was told to give them separately or the Panacur could interfere with the probiotic and cause it to not be as effective.

If you are giving the Panacur and the Bene-bac at the same time, the Bene-bac may not be working properly and the behavior that you are seeing may be her telling you that her tummy hurts. :(

Different vets will prescribe different doses of Panacur, too. Our vet is very aggressive and he had us give Panacur daily and in a fairly high dose. Chief didn't react to Panacur very well at all. He became very lethargic and stopped eating. We were truly afraid that we were poisoning him! So it can be very normal for your dragon to go off its feed and hide/sleep, because that is exactly what Chief did.

Even a month after his last Panacur dose, Chief was still sickly. It took a while to get him back on track.

I hope I'm helping you out with this information. Make sure you give at least 6 hours in between Panacur and the probiotic Bene-bac. Give the Panacur in the morning and the Bene-bac at least 6 hours later, in the afternoon.

The 7 day break in between is good. We had 7 days in a row, 5 days off and 7 more days. It was pretty bad.

I think she is going through a lot physically, with being sick with coccidia and also having all of the medications. Having a heat source at night is very helpful and I am glad you are doing that. I think you need to keep doing what you are doing and give your dragon time to recover. Reptiles take a while to recover from illness, as they are slow in metabolism in general. I wouldnt' make any drastic changes to her routine and let her heal.

Speaking from experience we had a very lethargic dragon who stopped eating entirely for several weeks during his treatments. He got better and I do believe you will have to go through the same thing we did, until she gets better.

You can always PM Tracie if you have any questions and perhaps she will have soemething helpful to add.

Good luck!

Sure, we all try to give advice based on our experience, and Tracie has more experience with this than anyone else on here. She is worth the wait for a good response. :D
